Only 6 Homes Remain

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

There are only 6 homes available – including a Display Home – at Highland Park. Once they are sold, the neighbourhood will be complete, and your chance to own a brand new home in this established neighbourhood will be gone.

Available homes at Highland Park include three bedroom plans from $402,900, and three bedroom plus family room from $437,900.

Not just a home, but a community… and a club

Located in Morgan Heights, Highland Park really is the kind of neighbourhood you want to live in. It’s close to every convenience with restaurants, shopping and services within an easy stroll. And, there’s also an abundance of green space with trails and golf courses nearby.

Owning at Highland Park not only means that you get a great home in a great community. There’s also The Club – a private clubhouse facility for the exclusive use of residents. There’s an outdoor pool, a weight room, a yoga studio, billiards table, movie theatre and an indoor floor hockey rink. Something for everyone.

Hurry in before these homes are gone.

Summer time at Highland Park

Thursday, August 11th, 2011

The Summer weather has finally arrived, and with the warmer weather, people are anxious to enjoy some sunshine alongside the pool or even the beach.  Highland Park  is the perfect place to be and is close to both White Rock  Beach and Crescent Beach.

White Rock is known for its sandy beaches, beautiful sunsets, great weather and of course, the 1,500 feet long pier.  While Crescent Beach offers a more rustic, natural feel with a graveled seaside promenade, quaint seaside homes and some great bistros.

If it’s a pool you’re after, Highland Park features a fantastic Club with an outdoor pool where you can relax or do a few laps.

Homes at Highland Park are flying out the door.  With our final phase being released this past weekend, we now have only 8 homes remaining.  We have some great 3 bedroom homes available including our Display Homes, but not for long.

Do not miss out on your final chance to be one of the lucky purchasers to own a home at Highland Park.

Buy Local This Thanksgiving

Wednesday, October 6th, 2010

Buying quality, fresh, local produce couldn’t be easier in the community in and around Glenmore and Highland Park. Which may take some of the weight off this year’s Thanksgiving dinner for residents in the area.

A short distance from Glenmore and Highland Park, the paved suburban street turns into a winding country road. At the end of the way, you’ll be greeted by a basket of fresh, free-range eggs. Reminiscent of the good ’ol days, these eggs are there for the taking through an honour system – select what you need, and leave a nominal sum in exchange. It’s wonderful to witness such a gesture of good faith.

Nestled off to the side of 184th, sits Hazelmere Organic Farm. In addition to providing organic grocery stores, organic wholesalers and Vancouver’s fine-dining restaurants with certified organic produce through Hazelmere Organics, the farm has been part of South Surrey’s local produce scene for the past 16 years. Over the years, the farm has provided locals with weekly produce orders ready to be picked up at the farm, or delivered straight to the front door.

But the farm’s respect for the environment and the surrounding community goes beyond its culinary herbs and vegetable varieties. The intentional cultivation of milk thistles and killdeer nests offer protection and habitat for songbirds and finches, ensuring that all nearby can enjoy the birds’ charming twitters.

Mary’s Garden is another well-known, family-run produce business that calls South Surrey home.  And while harvest season may be at a close, you will find an assortment of jams, dressings and marinades for your cooking needs.

Of course, Thanksgiving wouldn’t be the same without pumpkin pie, and a visit to the pumpkin patch! Bring the family to Hazelmere Pumpkin Patch at Gabriel Farms for U-pick pumpkins and gourds. And don’t forget the camera. A visit to Hazelmere Pumpkin Patch includes hayrides, a petting zoo and face painting, not to mention grinning faces.

When it comes to giving thanks, the residents in and around Glenmore and Highland Park don’t need a public holiday to remind them to show their appreciation. This growing community in South Surrey has always been eager to spread the wealth and celebrate good fortune. We hope you’ll also soon be sharing in the bounty of this dynamic neighbourhood.

Does Size Matter To You?

Friday, August 6th, 2010

Could you live in 600 square feet? Is location more important than size? Should your home be a place to live out of, rather than in?

A recent article on msnbc.com touched on all of these points, stating that when it comes to condo living, smaller spaces are set to attract Baby Boomers and Generation Y.

That got us thinking.

A smaller space is meant to be the trade off for living an urban lifestyle, but it definitely doesn’t have to be. At Glenmore and Morgan Heights we’re proud of our homes – they’re spaces that you can grow with, in an area that’s young, fresh vibrant and urban.  And as condos in the downtown core get smaller and smaller, we think it’s nice to know there are still full-sized homes available at affordable rates elsewhere.

What do you think? We’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback. Could you live in 600 square feet or less?

Nature – it’s what you move to the suburbs for!

Friday, July 9th, 2010

It doesn’t come better than this: South Surrey boasts unparalleled access to the great outdoors.

The century-old giant sequoias are only one of the 32 different species of tree to be discovered at Redwood Park, a manmade forest offering year-round trail walking.

The 32-hectare wood was propagated with saplings from around the world by the Brown brothers – twin boys, born deaf – given the land on their 21st birthday by their pioneer father.

The area also has a cluster of great golf courses: Morgan Creek, Hazelmere and Peace Portal .

If twitching is your passion, Blackie Spit is an ornithologist’s heaven. With some 200 different species of birds spotted in any given year, it’s considered one of the best bird-watching destinations in Canada. Look out for rare sightings of snow buntings and longspurs and revel in the familiar forms of “the three amigos” – willets, marbled godwits and long-billed curlews.

For beach life, White Rock’s Semiahmoo Park offers a relaxed dog-friendly sandy stretch. Take a walk along the long pier, look back to shore and you’ll see the famous white boulder that inspired the town’s name. Native legend has it that the rock marks the spot where the Transformers, emissaries of the Sagalie Tyee, the Creator, once passed.

Go on: breathe it in.

This is exactly what the Morgan Heights communities of Highland Park and Glenmore can offer: truly, a lifestyle worth living to the full.
