After the spring break fever lulls to an end, another event comes just around the corner often celebrated with bright pastel eggs and a little known friend we like to call – the Easter Bunny. The Easter long weekend is upon us and there are a few events happening around our communities that will get everyone egg-cited.
VANCOUVER WEST-END COMMUNITY EVENTS:
Egg-ucational Scavenger Hunt – Vancouver Aquarium
Friday April 14 2017 – Monday April 17 2017 • 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Learn interesting facts about aquatic animal eggs as you search through the Aquarium’s galleries. Look and solve for clues scattered throughout aquarium and unlock a secret world. Families can receive a chocolate treat upon completing the trivia form and enter to win one of three up-close-and-personal animal encounters.
Easter Egg Hunt – BC Place Stadium
Sunday April 16 2017 • 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Take a guided tour around BC Place Stadium, but be sure to keep your eyes peeled for some hidden treats! The guided tours leave every hour. Wear a jersey and get in for $8.50, regular admission fee is $15.
Stanley Park Railway Easter Fair – Stanley Park
Thursday April 13 2017 – Tuesday April 17 2017 • 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Carnival, mini golf, face painting and of course a ride through Stanley Park’s Easter-themed greens. Meet the Easter bunny and scavenge for hidden eggs provided by Daniel le Chocolat Belge. Reserve your train tickets in advance. Be sure to arrive no later than 4:00 PM as the last egg hunt will be at 4:40PM.
MARPOLE/OAKRIDGE COMMUNITY EVENTS:
Marpole-Oakridge Community Centre Egg Hunt

Kids ages 2-5 can participate in Marpole-Oakridge Community Centre’s annual Easter egg hunt. $6 fare for admission, visit their website for more details.
Oakridge Garden Centre Easter Egg Hunt

The Oakridge Garden Centre welcomes children ages 3 – 10 at the Oakridge Garden Centre for their Greenhouse Easter egg hunt. This event free for the family to enjoy. Register online to secure a spot for your little ones.
Oakridge Centre Lego Store

Easter eggs will be hidden around the Lego Store. Find an egg and receive Easter themed stickers (While quantities last).

Create Easter arts and crafts, play games and of course, hop in for an Easter egg hunt. Various community centres will be hosting events over the long weekend for families to enjoy. Please visit your local community centre website for more details.
Walk Richmond – McDonald Beach

Walk off your Easter breakfast and participate in Walk Richmond. The walk along Sea Island is ideal for those who enjoy scenic views of lush greens, airplanes and bird-watching. Meeting spot before the walk is the north end of McDonald Road at the McDonald Beach parking lot. Bring your pooch! Walk Richmond is a dog-friendly activity.
Easter Bunny Fest – Richmond Auto Mall

Rabbitats Rabbit Rescue is hosting a Meet ‘n’ Treat with rescued rabbits at the Richmond Automall. There will also be face painting, games, and prizes for the whole family.

Easter Arts Carnival – Leigh Square Community Arts Village

Enjoy an afternoon of arts and crafts, Easter egg hunts, storytelling and entertainment at the Leigh Square Community Arts Village annual carnival. This event is for kids ages 12 and under. Registration is required.
Easter Skate – Poirier Sport & Leisure Centre

Skate with the family and participate in some Easter activities available on and off the ice! This is an all ages event with just a $2 admission fee.
Burke Mountain Community Easter Egg Hunt – Galloway Park

This is Burke Mount Home’s 7th annual Easter egg hunt at Galloway Park. This year is expected to be bigger than ever, with an estimated 1200 children in attendance. Meet the Easter bunny and look for hidden Easter eggs in the park. Families are encouraged to bring their own baskets. Registration starts Monday at 10:00 AM. Children ages 0 – 4 will start at 11 and kids ages 5 – 8+ will start at 11:30AM. A minimum $5 donation per family is required to participate. 100% of the proceeds will benefit Tri-City Transitions, help for local families in the Tri-city area.
